I go back to teaching tomorrow, too. Same school as the last several years. Mostly grade 9 to 12 math, general science, and physics. The guy I replaced was also there for like 25 years and the students were thrilled that I replaced him, lmao.

We were back all last week for prep and professional development, but tomorrow is when the kids first arrive.

I'm heading out to my school later today to get some last minute printing done, but otherwise hoping to mostly just relax today.

Dude, we should colab. I'm doing all the science at the school (it's a tiny school).WastelandCowboy posted...
I miss summer vacation.

As much as I enjoy having a paycheck, I'd love to just kickback for a couple months and just relax. Travel around, eat some good food, and get some projects done.

I get paid in the summer and can totally travel and do all those things. Teachers get paid decently in my state, plus I have my masters which bumps me up the pay scale.

Krow_Incarnate posted...
On a teacher's paycheck, you'll be doing at most, one of those things.

Depends on where you work. I get paid decently (at least decently for me, but I don't live a lavish life style). Plus I get like 3 months off a year.

I might honestly try to get a part time job next summer

I go back to teaching tomorrow. I'm starting at a new school and will be teaching 8-12th graders (my principal dumped an 8th grade class on me at the last second).

I think I'm ready for it. The school is high-poverty, and mostly white (so basically the opposite of me).

The guy that I replaced worked at the school for 35 years lmao, so hopefully the kids aren't too disappointed in having me.

This. I seem to find more general complaints and "these games are much better than Oddyssey" than praise for it.

I know mario odyssey recieved a '97' on metacritic and was gonna say that he recieved better scores than the other mario games...

...but then I actually looked at the metracritic scores for the other mario games, and holy shit they are also nearly as high. I mean, I knew they were high but i wasn't expecting this:

both the galaxy games received a 97

sunshine received a 92

64 received 94

from what I saw, the lowest mainlain mario game is new super mario bros 2, which received a score of 78 (which really isn't even bad)

from what i saw, the next lowest is new super mario bros u with a score of 84

basically what I'm getting at is the mario series is extremely impressive for how long it's been going on (at least the "main" titles)

It's a fun game, just different from the rest of the 3d mario games in that it's more about exploring the level and just finding moons. Not as much platforming segments like the games you mentioned, but it's just a different game.

My one gripe is that I wish the worlds were bigger. I really just loved exploring in the game, and the bigger worlds would be great.

I remember noki noki bay in sunshine was just a giant level with an underwater portion. The beach level in comparison is a bit smaller.

Overall a great game though.

For the most part, I agree, but sometimes the talking makes the video better, as is the case for that walmart fight.

The best part about that walmart one is how one of the ladies is in a scooter, she gets out of it, and is able to fight.

Here's one that I absolutely love (super scary because of the knockout and a few of the people on the sidelines wanted to add their input).

Hawkeye/Black Widow scene was probably the saddest in the movie for me. There's just no way anyone, especially heroes, would just stand by and watch their good friend give up their life. It just went to show how much they care about each other.

that wasn't the point of the scene though.

the point was that they both wanted to be the one who dies and had a shitty little slap fight about it.

They both wanted to die so that the other would live since they were such good friends and love each other.

So yeah, that was the point of the scene

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Endgame. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Thor's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Nordin literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike the Avengers truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Thors existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Valkyrie's epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.

lmfao, posts like this always make me laugh

It's hard to tell, mainly because he has an axe in him at the time. He's definitely worse for wear after, but to be fair that could also just be the wound.

That being said, the snap clearly ruins the gauntlet to some degree - you can see it and the stones look somewhat broken afterward.

I know this is just being pedantic, but after the snap in IW both of his arms look fine. In endgame we see that destroying the stones burned his arm or whatever.

Maybe it has to do with the weakening of the gauntlet, but I'm almost certain Thanos said destroying the stones almost killed him
